Permanent Hair Removal And Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a new cosmetic technique aimed to remove unwanted body or facial hair permanently using light energy. It is a new and improved alternative to shaving, tweezing, waxing and using all sorts of chemicals to remove hair. Laser hair removal is also a less time consuming procedure than other techniques, such as electrolysis. It can remove hair from several areas at the same time. Permanent hair removal can be used on legs, chest or back, as well as some facial areas, such as eyebrows or lips.

Laser Hair Removal Candidates

The best candidates for permanent hair removal are individuals with fair skin and dark hair. Laser hair removal is less effective on red or blond hair and has better effects on coarse rather than fine hair. Several treatments are required and patients have to be willing to spend a lot of time on this procedure. Treatments are performed within a period of several months. The number of treatments required for facial hair removal varies from one patient to another. The best candidates have to be both mentally and physically healthy and share realistic expectations on the probable results of laser hair removal.

Permanent Laser Hair Removal Procedure

Doctors use one of several laser types for a permanent hair removal procedure, including the diode laser and the Q-switched Nd: Yag. For patients who have dark-colored skin, they often apply a bleaching cream to increase the chances of high effectiveness. An anesthetic cream is applied to the skin surface after it is shaved and cleaned. Then pulses of laser light send energy into the pigment of the hair shaft, thus damaging the surrounding follicle. Some surgeons use a carbon lotion, which responds to the laser wavelength and helps with stopping the hair from growing.

The Risks of Laser Hair Removal

Even though permanent hair removal is usually safe, there are some side effects that might occur in some cases. Among these side effects there is the darkening or lightening of the skin surface that has been treated. Darker skin is associated with a higher risk of changing its pigment, so tanning before the laser treatment should be avoided. Another possible side effect is burning and blistering. The risk of these side effects can be decreased by following carefully the cosmetic surgeon’s advices and instructions.

Length of Permanent Hair Removal Treatment

Your hairs are probably not all in the same growth stage at a given time. Generally, two-thirds of all hairs are growing, while the others are in a resting phase. Therefore, several laser hair removal treatments are required in order to get the desired effects. On average, three sessions are needed in order to remove all the hair from one area. Treatment sessions are usually scheduled at least one month apart to ensure the remaining hair will be back in the growth phase and can be removed during the next procedure. The length of one session depends on whether it is performed for body or facial hair removal and the size of the area that will be treated. The necessary amount of time for one session ranges between five minutes and one hour.

Permanent laser hair removal is a revolutionary cosmetic procedure that provides a lot of benefits and releases you from worrying about unaesthetic body hair and depilation. However, in order to reduce the probability of unwanted side effects, you have to make sure you choose a high-qualified cosmetic surgeon to perform the procedure.

The Beatles Were Wrong

Remember when the Beatles sang, all those years ago, “All you need is love” and “Love is all you need” (its corollary)? Well, guess what: apparently, the Beatles were wrong!

It has now been scientifically proven that love, all by its lonesome, and when not allied with hope, doesn’t actually measure up to very much, at least not in our all-too-familiar “practical” world.

Have you generally been successful in your career? Kids doing well in school? Feel you’ve attained many (or most) of the major sights you’ve set for yourself in your personal life? If so, these victories may have come about because you’ve developed the habit of HOPING for the best.

In a study conducted by the Clinical Psychology Department of the University of Kansas, 100 first-year college men and an equal number of first-year college women were asked to rate the factualness of a series of statements. These included such optimism axioms as “There are lots of ways around any problem” and “I always energetically pursue my goals.”

Results of the study concluded that “aspirations predict achievement better than standardized tests.” Evidence: Students who ranked the test’s hopeful statements as unlikely or untrue tended to be C-level achievers while those who identified closely with the hope-based declarations typically earned B grades or better. To put a capper on the findings, a significantly higher proportion of the hopeful student category eventually graduated.

Dare we also conclude however that such results, i.e., “the power of hope,” would also work for you and me, grizzled and fried as we are from our constant battles with obnoxious co-workers and bosses, unforgiving customers, strident politicians, telemarketers and con artists?

Probably, the Kansas research suggests. Other studies at the same center have uncovered indications that hope-minded expectations also hold the capacity to accurately predict high levels of psychological adjustment, health, athletic achievement and effective coping skills, not just in school or at work but, in fact, in ALL aspects of life.

Does what I’m telling you here make you feel hopeful or discouraged? If hopeful, you’re doing fine and are headed for success. If discouraged, get out and rent “It’s a Wonderful Life” and watch it about a dozen times. That may be the ticket to get you back on the right track.

Popular Hair Removal Solutions

Some of the more popular methods of temporary hair removal are Shaving, Waxing, Depilatory Creams and Threading. It can be hard to decide which method to use. What suits one woman may not be the right hair removal solution for another. What does each method involve?

Shaving

Shaving is the cheapest and fastest way to remove unwanted body hair. Its downside is that it only last for a few days at most. Shaving only removes the hair above the skin line so its needs to be done on a regular basis to maintain smooth skin. Depending on your rate of hair growth you may need to shave underarm hair more often as it grows faster than leg hair.

Although wet shaving is best, don’t allow your skin to soak for too long as this causes it to swell slightly and wrinkle which makes getting a close, clean shave more difficult.

Waxing

The longest lasting temporary hair removal method is waxing. It’s the most effective method to remove hair on the legs and thighs. You can expect hairs to grow back over a three to six week period. Hair can be pulled out from the root after warm wax enters the follicle. Waxing can be painful for anyone with sensitive skin and before waxing again hair most grow back by about 1cm.

Before the actual waxing a preconditioning lotion should be used. The hot wax is then applied to the skin and covered with strips of cloth. As the wax hardens around the hair strands the strips of cloth are quickly pulled away. As this is done the skin is pulled taunt opposite to the direction the cloth strip will be pulled from.

Pain is obviously subjective but most women find waxing only mildly painful. Probably the best advice is to try and relax! Once you have had several wax treatments the easier it will become.

Depilatory Creams.

If you want to remove unwanted hair fast then depilatory creams may be a solution. They basically contain a chemical that reacts with the keratin that makes up hair. Once applied this allows the hair to be wiped away from the skin line.

It’s often best to first apply a warm wash cloth to the area you are going to treat. This softens the hair and opens up the hair follicles. As some people can be sensitive to depilatory creams you should first test a small area on the forearm.

This type of hair removal should last for several days.

Threading

Threading is a method of hair removal where a doubled up strand of cotton is twisted around individual hairs. The cotton is then used to pull the hair out from the roots. Threading is now quite common in the United states but it’s origins lie in an ancient Middle Eastern technique. It’s mainly used on upper lips and eyebrows and is faster than tweezing.

How to Become an Internet Millionaire

Last year, Forbes reported that there were 691 billionaires in the world. India had 61,000 millionaires. In 2003, 1,400 people per day were becoming millionaires. That number is no doubt significantly higher in 2006, and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be next.

In the beginning, it’s true that you have to make sacrifices. In Mentor Magazine, Donald Trump listed the top ten ways to think like a billionaire. Some of these were: Don’t take vacations and don’t sleep any more than you have to. So, yes, in the beginning, there will be sacrifices. But think about it. If you sleep ten hours, how can you compete against people who sleep only four hours? If you want to become an internet millionaire, you do what is required.

That’s right - you must be willing to do whatever it takes in the beginning. If you do, you will be rewarded by enough money and time to later relax and enjoy the things you’ve always wanted to do.

No Regrets

One of the things that changed my life was my paper route when I was just 12 years old. I grew up in Ohio, and my parents told me if I wanted to wear the latest clothes and shoes, I would have to earn the money for myself. My last stop on my paper route was an assisted living facility for the elderly. I talked with the residents, and they repeatedly expressed regret about what they hadn’t done in their lives. They were stopped by fear, and they lamented their lost opportunities.

I made a promise to myself then and there that I would never end up like these people. I decided to live my life without regret. No “woulda coulda shoulda” for me! If you stop for a moment and think about the things in the past that you could have done, you’ll no doubt realize that it was fear that stopped you.

I just turned 28 years old, and if I wanted to, I could retire for the rest of my life right now. In the beginning, I would do anything that was required. I never let an opportunity pass me by. I would fly across the country at the last minute, and in the process, I met amazing people who each gave me a nugget of information that allows me to be where I am now. And I don’t regret a single one of the sacrifices I made.

Think about volcanologists. When a volcano erupts, they have to be ready to jump on a plane and fly to the volcano so that they can study it. It may be a long time before another volcano erupts, so they have to take their chance while they can. An internet millionaire is much like a volcanologist. They strike while the iron is hot and never miss an internet opportunity.

Powerful Questions

Internet millionaires ask questions that begin with “what” and “how” - “what can I do?” or “how can I make that happen?” They never start their questions with “why” because those questions are a waste of time. You’ll see amazing results when you start all of your questions with “what” or “how.” Just these two words can change the outcome of many things for you. Try it - you’ll be surprised!

There are also two magic words that internet millionaires use, and they’re also very powerful: monetize and systematize. Ask yourself, “How can I systematize this?” or “How can I monetize this?” If you can’t monetize it, then let it go, and move on to the next thing.

For example, you have lots of people who have subscribed to your lists. Now, how can you systematize it? Is the answer an FAQ autoresponder? You must ask yourself the “what” or “how” question in order to discover the answer to monetizing and systematizing your internet business.

You can also ask yourself - what would Henry Ford or Bill Gates do in this situation? Don’t separate yourself from Henry and Bill. They’re no more special than you, and if you’re willing to do what it takes, you can do it, too!

Mastering Your Internal Reality

Emotions are the product of the reactive mind. Emotions dictate the quality of our life. If you’re like most people you might feel like your emotions have the tendency to run wild even as you attempt to control them. That’s because of what’s been planted at the unconscious level in the garden and what has been mapped out in your internal reality.

What does that mean? It means that by controlling what you plant in your garden you’re half way there to controlling your emotions. Now you just need to make some new distinctions about the way you’ve mapped the world to ensure that the emotions that have a tendency to run wild aren’t used as conditioned responses.

What do I mean by that? I mean that you’ve setup some rules, beliefs or values as part of your map. By map I mean, the way you’ve interpreted reality. You are constantly interpreting reality and adding it to your pre-existing experience - you do this unconsciously. You’ve basically constructed a very solid map that helps you navigate the world. It is highly unlikely this map is 100% accurate. The realization that there are two realities - The one you live in and the one you’ve interpreted in your head. Your perception of the world around you IS your reality. You’ve constructed a map based on perception and THIS is the way you live the world.

How does this relate to Emotions?

As part of your “reality” map you’ve setup rules and conditions for how to deal with the world. In the early stages of life we try out all kinds of experiments for dealing with life. There are two main approaches during this time - The Trial and Error method and the Modeling method. During our most impressionable years the people we know or respect become the model for our own map. In some cases we try things out on our own, and use what we learn as a result in our “reality” map.

HAVE YOU EVER CHANGED THE WAY YOU PERCEIVED THE WORLD?

You may have thought that reality is static and unchanging. It’s out there and there’s nothing you can do about it. But let me ask you, has your “world” ever, suddenly changed? If you’re like most people you’ll say yes it has! At some point in your life something happened to you and it changed your entire PERSPECTIVE on life. The world wasn’t what you thought it was. You had to make some serious adjustments to your map to deal with the situation that had no previous conditioned response. It might have been when someone you trusted hurt you badly. Now for GOOD OR BAD you’ve restructured your map to deal with the circumstance in the future. For example you might create a wall that’s a mile high. Based on your previous experience and creative thought processes you decide that creating a wall is the best way to deal with future relationships that have the potential to hurt you.

Now the amazing thing about this whole process is: You can either be aware of this process and control it or it happens unconsciously. Being aware allows you to really question whether establishing a mile high wall is the best way to deal with the problem. After thinking about it - you may decide that rather than establishing a wall and shutting everyone out, you’ll establish a series of tests. A person will have to pass each test before they move in closer to your soft spot.

Now the point here isn’t which method is more effective for dealing with someone who breaches your trust - the point here is being aware of how the process works and rationalizing what the best choice is! And being so aware of what’s going on in your internal reality, and recognizing that you can change either the unconscious mind or the way you’ve mapped your reality; YOU HAVE CONTROL!

The thinking mind is an amazing gift when we know where to go with it. This process of unconscious discoveries and internal reality mapping took thousands of years to evolve into understanding. Now it’s been presented to you and if you never thought about it until now, you’ve just cut through a great deal of time.

We’ve covered some extremely powerful and universal points here. You’ll find that any mind strategy or “technology” as they are often called for dealing with life is really just guidance on how to re-map your reality. Effective communicators do a good job of understanding how most people’s minds or “maps” of reality work… and then help them rewrite their maps so they are more accurate, or more usable.

Many people’s maps are causing them to run into all kinds of unexpected problems. Imagine if an old time mariner had a map that said for the next 100 miles it would be open waters, but then when they actually set sail they ran into rocks. Because their map was inaccurate it caused quite an unpleasant and unexpected experience. At that point we hope they would immediately make adjustments to their map in order to ensure they didn’t make the same mistake again!

So as our maps become more accurate, life becomes a smoother sailing. We get where we want to go faster and we do it with less surprises.

4 Important Conversation Tips for Your Personal and Professional Lives

If you are searching for a way to improve your communication skills at work and in your personal life, here are some conversation tips that will give you a good starting point.

Your personal and business environments may be very
different, but the skills needed to communicate effectively
are basically the same.

If you are attentive, informed, and a great listener, you
can start a conversation with almost anyone in any
situation.

1. If you need to improve your conversational skills in the
workplace, look around at those who seem to continually
advance in their profession.

Notice how they speak with other employees, from the CEO to
the janitor. A friendly smile, a firm handshake, and a
confident attitude are generally common factors among those
who are quickly moving up the corporate ladder.

By making a conscious effort to speak with everyone you
encounter and displaying a friendly, self-assured attitude,
you will project a successful image and make lasting
impressions upon co-workers.

2. Your personal life is no different in that a positive
outlook and friendly disposition will go a long way in
improving your relationships with friends and family
members.

Everyone you encounter, from your spouse to the clerk at
your local convenience store will appreciate and respond
favorably to a kind word and a smiling face.

By paying attention to the interests and activities of
others, you will never lack for conversation. Ask about the
other person’s day, future plans, or any subject that you
know is of interest to them.

You can easily converse with everyone you meet if you
listen carefully and make a real effort to project a
positive image.

3. If you want to always have plenty to say to co-workers
and your employer, keep up to date on the latest
developments in your particular field.

Read trade magazines, company literature, and search web
sites. Having the ability to hold an intelligent
conversation about your line of work will make you
invaluable in your company and allow you to communicate
effectively.

Be discreet and professional in your conversations with
other employees. No supervisor will begrudge you a few
moments of small talk now and then, but constant chatting
and talking across the room to others is distracting and
unprofessional.

Chat for a few minutes when your workload allows, but keep
it quiet and courteous.

4. Courtesy, genuine interest, and a little preparation
will give you an advantage in your ability to converse with
others.

Make a mental note of things of interest that can be used
to start a conversation and give you an edge in the
workplace.

Current events, local politics, and the activities of
others will always make good conversation starters whether
at home or at the office.

Conversational tips include common courtesy, a positive
attitude, and a little planning. If you observe a few
simple rules, your communication skills will improve
dramatically.

These conversation tips should be enough to get you started
down the path of successful communication. The ability to
carry on a conversation with very little effort is a
learned skill that comes easier to some than others.

If you need to improve your conversational skills, practice
these tips each day and pretty soon they will be habits
that come naturally.
