Poker Player Profile: Humberto Brenes

In recent years, Humberto Brenes has become known as one of the court jesters of the game of online poker, and not necessarily in a way you want to remember. Though he is imminently likable by his big and obvious love for the game, Brenes is most well known for making a spectacle of himself in big hands, making loud celebrations of his hands as they go to the board, and wielding the now notorious plastic sharks that he uses to eat the other players’ poker cards and patience with.

Though Brenes wasn’t always such an explosion. He may have come to the forefront mainly for his theatrics in the face of recent deep runs in WSOP, but Brenes has been around for quite some time. He has cashed in the WSOP a record number of times, with years of appearances under his belt. His careful and analytical style often end up finding him deep in the chips, wasting none of his money.

Though the color may get old after a while, it’s worthwhile to note that Brenes is no slouch when it comes to the poker cards, and that if you get too wrapped up in his physical style, you might miss or get over-heated enough to want to ship him all the chips.
